About the author.

Byron Holcomb is a “back country” lawyer in Washington State. He has come out of the woods for the past forty-five years to defend military members and federal employees in thirty-three foreign countries.

Byron graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. His Masters degree is from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. His law degree is from the University of Washington. 

He is a retired naval officer. Byron is a frequent contributor to major newspapers, and he advises newspapers and television channels as background on military matters.

Byron currently lives in Bainbridge Island, Washington.  He is married with four children and five grandchildren.
